Get to know Jo
Jo Garrett is from Ferndown in Dorset and began singing and performing at the age of fourteen. At nineteen she moved to London where she sang recording and live radio sessions whilst performing with a myriad of artists in various well-known establishments, Marquee, Mean Fiddler, Borderline, Forum, Roundhouse & Rockgarden to name but a few. She later toured Italy and Holland to promote an album she featured on by Lee Fardon, Jo also sang backing vocals on a grammy nominated album by the artist Denzil.
After a stint on the ships Jo succumbed to the travel bug and headed for warmer climes, settling in Dubai where she met Martin, the two of them have been performing and entertaining crowds in this successful union all around the region ever since. Jo has the ability to adapt to almost any function from jazz to pop, blues to rock. Her beautiful voice and professional attitude comes across on any stage in any venue.
MARTIN
Get to know Martin
Martin Burrows is from Basildon, Essex & started his musical career playing guitar in pubs and clubs in the area. Having success with the local rock band "Prowler" they were invited to play the legendary Marquee club in London and were picked up by MCA to record a single on a compilation album. With various recording sessions and some tv work on London weekend television Martin soon realized it was going to be a full time career. Touring took him to Italy, Germany and Turkey playing military bases with various line-ups for two years before he ventured even further east from his small home in Essex.
Dubai was next on the list and it wasn’t long before Martin had made his mark. As most of the venues required a duo he began programming his own backing tracks and soon built up a large repertoire of various styles of music to suit all tastes. His experience and music variety grew after performing guitar & vocals in numerous 5 star venues including the Jumeirah beach hotel, Hilton and Sheraton hotels. Along with Jo, corporate functions included the “Big five” and “Index” exhibition parties at the Dubai World Trade Centre performing to crowds of 4000 people for 5 consecutive years .
All this has given Martin the ability to adapt to almost any function from jazz to pop, blues to rock , solo, duo or with a band. His great guitar work, professional attitude mixed with charm and a little humour makes him an entertaining addition to any line-up in any venue.
